Saturn has 293 known moons, 63 of which have formal names.[6]
Mostly tiny
The Norse group alone has 210 known members as of April 2026, dominated by small moons.[4]
Big batches
Bergelmir was one of 12 moons found on a single day in December 2004.[2] A team led by Scott Sheppard announced 17 new Norse-group moons in October 2019.[4]
Moonlets not counted
There is evidence of dozens to hundreds of moonlets 40–500 m across in Saturn’s rings, which are not counted as moons.[6]
